Track Employee Credentials With Ease
Knowing which employees are trained to perform certain activities or have the required certifications or licenses is an ongoing challenge in heavy construction.
With paper files, checking credentials requires a time consuming manual search. Spreadsheets are a step up, allowing contractors to search and filter the data. Keeping spreadsheets up to date, however, is difficult, especially with a large workforce.
With an e-forms and reporting solution like B2W Inform, employee credentials can be maintained in a central database. Contractors can then query that data, searching by variables such as a particular credential or license, job title, location or expiration dates. The system can also provide alerts – in advance – to warn when credentials are about to expire, another big advantage over paper and spreadsheets.
“Our safety manager used to track all certifications, licensing and training for each employee, using paper files,” explains Matt Deluca, construction project manager at RJV Construction. “Using the reporting engine in B2W Inform, querying is now done in a matter of seconds instead of hours.
