E-forms and Reporting Improve Post-Project Review Meetings

The post-project review meeting is an important step for contractors working in power and energy sectors as well as other heavy civil specialties. The goal is to access and learn from the information covered in the meetings at a later date in order to improving the outcomes of future projects. Companies that document these meetings with an e-forms and reporting tool like B2W Inform gain a clear advantage.

When post-project review meetings are documented on paper, the results typically end up in a file drawer. Looking back at the information is time consuming and requires personal knowledge. The employee searching through paper reports has to know what he or she is searching for, and that personal familiarity with past projects erodes over time. Developing reports and identifying trends based on aggregated information from multiple reports is also difficult.

When data from these meetings is captured and stored using an e-forms and reporting tool, however, the information is easily searchable by keywords or by the fields used in the electronic forms. A contractor considering a subcontractor for a specialized type of work on an upcoming project, for example, could quickly search for and evaluate results from similar projects that this subcontractor worked on. With paper reports, someone would have to remember which past projects involved that specialized work and that specific subcontractor, or they would have to search through meeting reports on every past project.
