B2W Software Expands Portsmouth Headquarters

Staff, Revenue and Product Portfolio Continue to Grow for Construction Management Software Provider

B2W Software, a leading provider of heavy civil construction management software, has acquired 25 percent more space at its headquarters in Portsmouth, New Hampshire in response to recent and projected growth.

B2W now occupies the top two floors at 99 Bow Street/Martingale Wharf, with a total of 18,000 square feet of office space. The company grew annual revenue by more than 25 percent for the third consecutive year in 2015, attracting close to 150 new clients and signing the largest single contract in its 23-year history. B2W is also adding a new software solution for data capture and analysis to its platform, which also includes applications for construction estimating, scheduling, field tracking and equipment maintenance.

“Heavy construction companies are moving to more sophisticated software to improve profitability and competitiveness,” explains B2W Software founder and CEO Paul McKeon. “We’re growing by providing unique, unified solutions that help our clients win more bids, optimize operational performance and turn their data into valuable business intelligence.”

The expansion in Portsmouth accommodates a B2W team that has grown by approximately 20 percent over the past 18 months to nearly 100 members. A new, state-of-the-art Quality Assurance (QA) lab has also been added. Software engineers use the dedicated facility to simulate the mobile and desktop operating environments of clients in order to test new developments. The majority of B2W employees, including the software development and client support teams, are based in Portsmouth.

Construction companies in all 50 U.S. states, each Canadian province and several other countries use B2W Software to bid on large-scale infrastructure and commercial projects. The work ranges from highways and bridges to energy generation facilities, underground utilities and power transmission. Clients also rely on specialized B2W applications to plan and track the work once jobs are won, schedule resources, and maintain large fleets of equipment.

Several construction companies in New Hampshire use B2W Software including R.S. Audley, Alvin J. Coleman & Son, Pike Industries, Severino Trucking and Continental Paving.

McKeon founded B2W in 1993. He says the Portsmouth area continues to provide an outstanding talent pool. “We’re a private company operating with the energy of a start-up and the stability of a proven industry leader,” he explains. “That’s an appealing combination for the talent we rely on to continuously develop and support cutting-edge software.”

2015 was the most prolific year for development in B2W Software’s history, according to McKeon. In addition to the new B2W Inform solution for data capture and analysis, the company introduced significant enhancements to its B2W Track application for field tracking and B2W Maintain application for equipment maintenance and repair. The latter was one of five finalists in the New Hampshire High Tech Council Product of the Year award program.

Development work was also launched for a revamped B2W Schedule application for construction resource scheduling and dispatching that is expected to be released in 2016.

The most notable B2W customer transaction over the past 12 months, and the largest in the company’s history, involved an international company headquartered in the U.S. which added B2W licenses for 1,100 users. In December, Emil Anderson Construction became the 1,500th company to adopt the B2W Estimate application for estimating and bidding. That company’s high-profile work in British Columbia has included ski jumping and bob sledding venues for the Winter Olympics site in Whistler.

B2W Software, a leading a leading provider of construction management software, has expanded its office space on the waterfront in downtown Portsmouth, New Hampshire to accommodate recent and projected growth.
