Barriere Construction and B2W to Present Trends and Best Practices for Mobile Data Capture and Analysis at CFMA Conference

Brian Cooney and Paul McKeon will highlight profitability and operational impact during joint technology-track presentation June 27

Portsmouth, NH – June 3, 2016 – Brian Cooney, who recently retired as executive vice president of Finance and Administration at Barriere Construction, will join B2W Software CEO Paul McKeon at the 2016 Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) Annual Conference and Exhibition for a presentation exploring how construction companies can optimize mobile technology and data. The pair will speak on June 27 at 10:30 am at the conference in San Antonio, Texas.

“When you deliver the right information at the right time, you empower employees to make the right decisions,” explains Cooney. “Mobile technology has provided breakthrough opportunities, but construction companies need a cohesive strategy for optimizing the technology, structuring and validating the data and producing actionable information for their field staffs.”

Cooney and McKeon will cover the structure and capabilities of a best-in-class solution for data capture and analysis including cloud and mobile capabilities and aimed at allowing construction companies to improve operational efficiency, safety and profitability. They will explain how to create and use smarter electronic forms and how to generate data-driven reports and dashboards. The presentation will be based on real-world experiences at Barriere, a multi-division highway and heavy civil construction company based in Louisiana.

McKeon contends that construction companies must optimize all assets – including their data – to combat increasing margin pressure. He says mobile applications have become mainstream within purpose-built applications for field tracking, maintenance and dozens of other functions. “Brian and I will focus on the next challenge, which is incorporating all of the other disparate data that is typically unstructured and difficult to access and using it to drive performance improvement,” he explains.

Cooney will discuss why and how Barriere Construction implemented mobile technology in concert with a software solution for enterprise-wide data capture and analysis. He will present practical examples of how the company is streamlining and standardizing forms related processes, capturing richer data and generating enhanced reporting and dashboards.
