Portsmouth, NH – October 1, 2015 –B2W Software, a leading provider of enterprise-class construction software, services and solutions, today announced that Phoenix, Arizona-based Fire Training Structures (FTS), LLC, has selected B2W Estimate to streamline the company’s bidding process. The solution is helping the FTS reduce manual data entry steps in the bidding process while enabling the company to complete estimates faster and be more responsive to customers’ needs.
FTS has been assisting fire service professionals worldwide with their training needs since 2005. The company fabricates customized training structures to meet the specific needs of its domestic and international customer base of firefighters. Its staff of training specialists, professional engineers and certified fabricators design and construct training systems to meet unique needs as well as repeated Live-Fire Training utilizing Class “A” or Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) as fuel sources.
To streamline the estimating process, the company needed an automated means to fill out electronic bids, using relevant information pulled from a unified database. Having prior experience with B2W Estimate at two former jobs, Larry Pagel, controller at FTS, knew the solution could immediately enhance the company’s ability to produce accurate bids with less effort.
“We are more of a fabrication shop, and every project is a standalone bid,” Pagel said. “Because of this, it’s imperative to know what our margin is or we will not have a lot of confidence in our cost structure.”
B2W Estimate has allowed FTS to create a unified resource database that stores common bid items, such as materials and tasks, used in its estimates. Those up-to-date items can then be pulled into a new bid instantly, saving the company significant time.
“Some of these projects are very similar in duration and customization, making it a bit easier to produce bids. We can use B2W Estimate to compare similar tasks performed to better determine cost and compare the performance to other bids, enhancing our overall accuracy,” Pagel noted.
Moving forward, Pagel is also considering the B2W Software’s mobile solution, which provides accessibility from any tablet or smartphone with an Internet or cellular connection. The mobile solution will enable FTS’s representatives attending trade shows or at customer locations to instantly produce precise container fabrication or rental estimates. In addition, Pagel also plans to implement B2W Estimate in January 2016 to create estimates for customized containers sold by their sister company, Southwest Mobile Storage.
